Optional People's Choice award will be designated by general public votes. Entrants must be willing to provide sample product of their choice to public voters. NO entry fee is required. Winners will receive category recognition as well as free entry to the following year's competion, prime event location and site banner with winning entrant's team logo and/or information

Rules & Regulations

This event is in conjunction with Relay for Life Hale County with all the rules for judging as written by that organization and IBCA.

Vehicles must be parked outside of the cook-off area. No vehicles will be allowed in or out of the cook‐off area. This is to keep from overcrowding and to allow easy access for Fire and EMS. Move out time will be after 6:00 pm Saturday, May 6, 2017.Teams may stay Saturday night for the concert. Each team will be assigned a 20 x 30 campsite. Water spaces are not available. You must bring your own generators.

COOKS MEETING: Head Cooks meeting will be held Friday, May 5, 2017 at 8:30pm.

BEST CAMPSITE: Judging will be conducted by guest judges throughout the day and announced during awards. Teams will be judged on showmanship, campsite cleanliness, appearance and authenticity.

PRIZES: IBCA states that a Grand Champion be named at every cook‐off. In the event of a tie for Grand Champion, brisket will be the first tie breaker, followed by ribs, then chicken.

We will award belt buckles to the Overall Winner, and the 1st places in the Beef Brisket, Pork Spare Ribs, and Chicken, and Pork Butt Divisions. Plaques will be awarded to the Best Campsite Award, Margarita, Salsa, Fajita, Open category, Kids Q, Chili, and Jackpot Bean division. Prize money will be based off a standard payout schedule.

The committee has the right to change the prizes as needed.

Dogs are allowed but must stay on a lease. Golf carts will be allowed on asphalt only and must watch their speeds. No motorcycles, mopeds, three wheelers, four wheelers, will be permitted inside the gates, with the exception of those used by Officials of the Mark Marley GO BIG or GO HOME BBQ Bash or handicapped individuals who have made arrangements with promoter prior to event.

Check in time will be Friday, May 5, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Neither the Mark Marley GO BIG or GO HOME BBQ Bash, Relay for Life of Hale County, American Cancer Society, City of Plainview, Hale County, nor the Sponsors of this event will be held responsible for any theft or damage of property or bodily injury.

Mark Marley GO BIG or GO HOME BBQ Bash reserves the right to adjust regulations as situations warrant. Decisions of Mark Marley GO BIG or GO HOME BBQ Bash and Judge(s) will be final.
